Job Description:

onsemi is seeking an MTS Digital Design Engineer for New Product Development in Power Management, based in San Jose, California. This role involves developing power management products such as multiphase controllers, smart power FETs, and DC-DC converters for various applications including consumer, industrial, and automotive sectors. The company is committed to driving innovations in automotive and industrial markets, focusing on megatrends like vehicle electrification and sustainable energy.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor junior Analog IC design engineers.
  • Lead a Digital IC design team with product ownership from definition to release.
  • Oversee digital design architecture, RTL, low power design, synthesis, and timing analysis for power management chips.
  • Collaborate with design architects, digital verification, project management, and analog design teams globally.
  • Drive architecture to micro-architecture to RTL implementation, refining feature requirements throughout the design process.
  • Support feature bring-up at a system level in pre-silicon platforms like SOCV, Emulation, and FPGA.
  • Own technical outcomes of design, verification, implementation, and execution of Power Management ICs.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 17+ years of experience, or MS with 15+ years of experience.
  • Thorough understanding of end-to-end digital design flow.
  • Solid understanding of RTL design, CDC, ASIC synthesis, timing analysis, and system Verilog.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Verilog, TCL, and Perl/Python/XML programming languages.
  • Experience in developing ASIC/Mixed signal ICs for power converters.
  • Good understanding of control mechanisms and digital architecture trade-offs.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
