Job Description:

SkyWater is seeking a Principal Engineer specializing in Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to join our team at the Bloomington, MN headquarters. This role involves leading cross-functional teams to enhance design methodologies and contribute to advanced ASIC development projects, focusing on cutting-edge semiconductor technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for implementing DFM and OPC at 130, 90, and 65 nm platforms, with plans to extend to 45 nm and below.
  • Implement DFM/OPC strategies through successful Physical Verification (PV) methods using state-of-the-art tools, such as Mentor Calibre.
  • Develop OPC models for accurate application and processing of sub-wavelength features at 248nm and 193nm lithography nodes.
  • Provide technical support for customers using SkyWater Process Design Kits (PDKs) to ensure successful designs through product mask generation and tapeout.
  • Collaborate with design, layout, and process engineers to incorporate technology requirements into OPC models and PDKs.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with a BS, 7-10 years with an MS, or 5+ years with a PhD.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing model-based OPC methods at a semiconductor foundry.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Physical Verification tools for mask/reticle generation and OPC manipulation.
  • Ability to write/debug programs and generate OPC across multiple technology platforms.
  • Experience in OPC generation for 130, 90, 65, and 45 nm platforms.
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required for government security clearance.

Skills:

  • Calibre-based PV flow experience (preferred).
  • Experience with DFM methods in Design Flow (a plus).
  • Customer-facing experience (a plus).
