Job Description:

Amazon LEO is launching a constellation of LEO satellites to provide broadband connectivity to underserved communities. The LEO Antenna Test Infrastructure team is crucial in verifying satellite hardware and integrating test automation across various engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop test infrastructure for measuring antenna performance metrics of digital phased array systems in near and far field chambers.
  • Define test plans and procedures for lab and chamber testing to ensure comprehensive requirement verification.
  • Automate tests using custom-made antenna test systems to enhance antenna beam pattern testing.
  • Implement, validate, and optimize lab and chamber test configurations.
  • Analyze test results through post-processing and troubleshoot issues, performing root-cause analysis for failures.
  • Document and communicate test results and issues effectively with developers and managers.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to select enabling lab technologies.
  • Guide antennas and customer terminals through test campaigns from concept to integration.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering with RF and antenna coursework or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in EM modeling using 2.5D and 3D EM tools.
  • 2+ years of experience in RF design and modeling with simulation tools.
  • 2+ years of experience with MATLAB.
  • Professional experience in design, implementation, and verification of RF system products.
  • Experience with lab work and RF test equipment.
  • Experience in automation of test equipment.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.
  • Experience in designing complex mechanical products at scale.
  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering with RF or antenna-related research.
  • Strong foundations in RF electronics and digital communication systems.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • 5+ years of experience designing RF products and building blocks.
  • 2+ years of experience programming Automated Test Equipment.
  • Experience with testing digitally modulated signals.
