Job Description:

Voyant Photonics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Analog & Mixed-Signal design to lead the technical direction of our innovative LiDAR modules. This role is pivotal in transforming machine perception through compact, high-performance sensors that leverage advanced silicon photonics technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the analog and mixed-signal architecture for next-generation LiDAR modules, including TIAs, ADCs, and power delivery systems.
  • Act as the technical authority on signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC, establishing design standards and review processes.
  • Lead the bring-up, characterization, and validation strategy across multiple programs, ensuring robustness and manufacturability.
  • Own critical design trade-offs affecting performance, cost, and integration complexity.
  • Mentor hardware engineers and provide technical direction in cross-functional reviews.
  • Drive supplier and component strategy for critical analog parts, engaging with vendors on custom components.
  • Represent hardware engineering in technical discussions with customers, partners, and investors.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on hardware development experience with end-to-end ownership of high-volume systems.
  • Proven leadership in setting technical direction for teams or product lines.
  • Expertise in low-noise analog and high-speed digital design.
  • Authority on signal/power integrity and EMI mitigation techniques.
  • Experience in driving designs through DFM, reliability testing, and yield optimization.

Skills:

  • Proficient in schematic capture and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, Altium).
  • Advanced skills in SI/PI simulation tools (e.g., HyperLynx, SiWave) and measurement tools (GHz-range scopes, VNAs).
  • Extensive experience with FPGAs, microcontrollers, and custom analog ASICs integration.
