Sr. RF/Wireless Engineer

TÜV SÜD is a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, dedicated to advancing technology for societal safety. We are seeking a Senior RF/Wireless Engineer to support wireless certification, regulatory compliance, and testing for connected products, ensuring successful certification outcomes through collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities:

• Perform wireless certification, regulatory compliance, and carrier acceptance testing according to PTCRB, GCF, FCC, ISED, 3GPP, ETSI, and carrier requirements.
• Conduct cellular RF conformance and performance testing across GSM, WCDMA, LTE, LTE-Advanced, 5G NR, and emerging wireless technologies.
• Perform Radiated Spurious Emissions (RSE), transmitter, receiver, and other RF performance measurements.
• Develop and review test plans, procedures, configurations, technical reports, and certification documentation.
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot RF and certification failures, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Configure and operate cellular communication testers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, RF power meters, and related laboratory equipment.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians and support laboratory quality, process improvement, and new test capability development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a closely related field with at least 5 years of relevant hands-on experience, or a master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with PTCRB certification, cellular RF testing, FCC and ISED requirements, and Radiated Spurious Emissions (RSE).
• Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, wireless technologies, transmitter and receiver performance, and measurement techniques.
• Experience with test platforms such as Keysight UXM/E7515, Rohde & Schwarz CMW500/CMX500, Anritsu MT8000A/ME7873, or equivalent systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, data analysis, technical writing, and customer communication skills.
• Experience in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory and with automation tools such as Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW is preferred.
