Sr. SoC Power Engineer, Annapurna Labs – Cloud Scale Machine Learning

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior SoC Power Engineer to join the Machine Learning Acceleration (MLA) team within the Utility Computing (UC) organization. This role focuses on power analysis and modeling for the Inferentia and Trainium SoCs, which are essential for AI workloads globally. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to optimize power consumption and enhance the performance of machine learning accelerators.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct full chip power analysis and modeling from RTL to gate level netlist.
• Develop and maintain dashboards for power rollups.
• Collaborate with designers, architects, verification engineers, and physical design engineers to create vectors for IR and thermal analysis.
• Provide feedback to design teams on power reduction strategies.
• Perform lab power measurements and correlate results with simulations.
• Work with emulation engineers to model chip-level power consumption.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• 6 years of experience with a BS, 5 years with an MS, or 3 years with a PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.

Skills:

• Expertise in power analysis tools such as Power Artist.
• Strong background in power modeling and estimation techniques.
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams including architects and verification engineers.
• Proficiency in lab measurements and simulation correlation.
