Job Description:

Amazon Leo is a low Earth orbit satellite network aimed at providing reliable internet connectivity to underserved areas. The team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative software solutions that support the network's mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design and launch innovative products and services.
  • Develop technologies in a distributed computing environment to drive industry changes.
  • Create scalable solutions for running predictions on distributed systems.
  • Build fault-tolerant distributed storage, indexing, and query systems.
  • Design and code solutions for broadly defined problems in an agile environment.
  • Manage the complete software development lifecycle, including design, testing, and deployment.
  • Engage in major engineering projects with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve software architectural deficiencies to enhance software quality and speed.
  • Communicate effectively to achieve optimal outcomes and incorporate diverse perspectives.
  • Promote software best practices, focusing on security, quality, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of systems.
  • Experience with at least one programming language.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in C, C++, RUST, or similar languages.
  • Experience with embedded Linux or real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Knowledge of communication buses like PCIe, I2C, SPI, etc.
  • Ability to debug low-level issues across hardware and software.
  • Strong collaboration skills with hardware teams for design and verification.
