Job Description:
General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our team in Scottsdale, AZ, focusing on ASIC and FPGA development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Electrical or Computer Engineering, with extensive experience in verification processes and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Define, design, verify, and document ASIC and/or FPGA developments.
- Determine architecture, system simulation, and detailed design approaches.
- Define module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation.
- Create test and simulation plans that establish functional criteria.
- Verify test results and analyze performance.
- Review vendor capabilities and simulation tools as needed.
- Participate in the improvement of ASIC/FPGA organizational processes.
- Support the generation of technical engineering products using appropriate standards and tools throughout the development life cycle.
- Provide leadership and direction to lower-level employees as necessary.
- Independently determine approaches to solutions and contribute to major programs and projects.
- Plan and execute project tasks related to ASIC/FPGA development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of job-related experience, or 6 years with a Master's degree.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance.
Skills:
- In-depth experience with RTL simulation tools (e.g., Siemens Mentor Graphics Questa, Modelsim) in a Linux environment.
- Knowledge of System Verilog, UVM, and testbench architectures.
- Experience with predictive testbench components, functional coverage, and assertions.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Linux shell scripts, TCL, Python).
- Experience with formal verification tools and code coverage.
- Understanding of AXI protocols, PCIe, Space Wire, and Ethernet interfaces.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and communication skills.
